Our groovy mayoral candidate, Tyler Allen, is out talking to voters this morning. He'll be voting himself at Chenoweth Elementary at 10 am, btw, if you want to catch up with him.

In the meantime, the HQ is hoppin'! Tyler's pastor, Jud Hendrix, and friend Jayne Culp (Today's her birthday!), just disembarked on their mission of driving the Tyler Big-Rig about town. I told them to head to Dixie Highway but I'm hoping they are thoughtful and go get us some donuts first. A big truckload of donuts. Yes. I don't know what Jud's doing with his fingers. I think it's a TA? Or a peace sign with a T.

Bridges Press Conference

8664 released the results of their Mayoral Candidate Transportation Questionnaire today! Check it out at 8664.org. Lookie how they organized the responses in a table that clearly show Tyler Allen is the most-visionary candidate in the race. We didn't ask them to do this, either. It just works out like that, because, well, you know, he is.

Incidentally, Tyler Allen was actually talking about bridges & tolls in today's press conference, because it's important. Tolls on existing bridges for a spaghetti-junction reconfiguration the community does not want, is just misguided.

Our Champion, Tyler Allen, was introduced satirically by Joe Arnold at this morning's Breakfast of Champions Breakfast, held at the U of L's University Center, as "Courier-Journal's favorite candidate" to which Tyler victoriously raised both hands high. An applause ensued.

In case you missed it Sunday, the Courier Journal Editorial Board predictably endorsed Greg Fischer as their Democratic candidate for mayor of Louisville. Depending on how you get your news, you received a different version of the message. The print version included a very different version than was subjected to online readers, more likely to be Tyler's followers. All in all, there were 11 significant varations between the story. One sentence online readers intended for at-home subscribers only, clearly stands out:

"He is unsuited for the job of mayor."

2 audiences, 2 separate messages. This is just the latest example of the Courier Journal Editorial Board's practice of controlling information to promote the agenda of a very few.

Other discrepancies are more peculiar. In the paper, Fischer "makes a compelling case that he is the candidate best-suited..." but online he "makes a credible case." (This staffer doesn't think he makes either.) With Tandy, the CJ chose to communicate only to online readers that he has "not raised money to have a presence on television" while in print they write "he has not raised enough money to make himself a serious contender..." With King, they used the word "deceptively" in printed version, and "erroneously" online. See a pattern? They're being meaner in the printed version. Why?

Look for Tyler's rebuttal in the CJ later in the week. They've limited him to 200 words or less. No word yet on whether his word count can be more 8 words more for the print edition.

The Greater Louisville Alliance of Black School Educators hosted a mayoral forum tonight. They are the local affiliate of the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE). Founded in 1970, NABSE is a non-profit organization that is devoted to furthering the academic success of the nation's children, especially those children of African descent. The organization has 5,000 members, with nearly 100 local affiliates.

The purpose of GLABSE is to improve, promote, and facilitate the education of all students, and particularly Black students; to establish a coalition of Black educators and others directly or indirectly involved in the educaitonal process; to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and strategies to improve education for Black students; to influence public policy concerning the education of Black People.

Old Louisville Mayoral Forum

Tyler was one of 9 candidates that made it to the forum yesterday hosted by The Chapel of St. Phillips on Woodbine St. in Old Louisville. What was really neat about this forum is that the vast majority of the attendees came on foot. A sustainable, walkable inner-city neighborhood- So inspiring!

Our cookout today was pretty awesome. Thanks to the volunteers that showed up this morning to deliver signs, and to all the folks that stopped by for our cookout during the Air Show. And campaigning in the crowd was just too much fun. We host so many people from all over the region, it's something to certainly be proud of. Definitely a good day overall. Only one Democratic mayoral candidate took the time to attend the Bi-State Tolling Authority Meeting this morning. That candidate was Tyler N. Allen.

Why, would only one candidate be making a stand at the monthly meeting of the most important issue facing our community? What the heck is up with that? We're not saying that have to actually take a courageous stand, how about just showing up...too much to ask? Pictured here is Tyler with 8664 co-founder J.C. Stites at this mornings meeting. We just got heads up from Louisville Grows that Sarah Wolff, who organizes volunteers for the Olmsted Conservancy that takes care of the parks in Louisville, needs our help!

The Conservancy has HUNDREDS of saplings that need to be planted tomorrow or they will perish. If you have any time tomorrow, an hour, an half-hour, whatever, please please please call her. The planting will be at Cherokee park and all the species are native. She will be there from 8am-4:30pm

Thanks in large part to our sitting Metro Council (See R-127-07-09), the Bi-State Authority believes they can legally create tolls on existing bridges to finance the misguided Ohio River Bridges Project. Instead, let's chart a new future for our community that involves respecting existing neighborhoods and modern mass transit, for example.

If you're interested in attending the Bi-State Authority meeting that's being held tomorrow (Thursday, April 8), meet up with us at 8:30 am at our campaign headquarters, 600 E. Main St, for coffee, donuts and informal discussion.

Then we'll carpool over and make our voice heard. If you have something to tell the "Authority," they're saying they'll let anyone that wants to speak have up to 5 minutes to do so. So write down your thoughts and come prepared! facebook event: LINK

When we saw Jonathan show up to cover the last NPP meeting, we knew a fiery follow-up would ensue. Go to HERE for his entire coverage of the event that was hosted at St. Joseph's in Butchertown just over a week ago.

So what's next?...Well, we figured since the Bi-State (TOLLING) Authority is MAKING DECISIONS ON THE MOST VITAL ISSUE FACING LOUISVILLE'S FUTURE, it would be kind of important to attend the meeting.

We are hosting a coffee and donut reception at our campaign headquarters, 600 E. Main St. (the old Billy Goat Strut Building), Thursday from 8:30 am- 9am, then we'll be carpooling to New Albany to attend the meeting that starts at 10 am and supposed to be over by Noon. Hope you had a fabulous weekend! We sure had an amazing presence at the Easter Parade Saturday. Pictures and video will be up on the blog in the coming days! So here's what's next - We have three major projects this week in which we need your help!:

Our most ambitious project is a full-on effort Monday-Wednesday to get out a heck-ton of signs to people that we know want them already. We need folks willing to work in the headquarters putting together routes on the google map machine, also actually putting together, as well as volunteers to deliver them all over town. Stop in the office Mon-Wed 9 am-6 pm to help with this very vital project!

J-town Awesomeness

Following this mornings Easter Parade (Extensive media to follow in coming days), Tyler made it out to the Jeffersontown EasterFest where Radio Disney was entertaining the kiddos with music, games and prizes. Tyler's business, USA Image Technologies, is actually located in J-town.

More than one supporter brought to Tyler's attention that a huge factor in Louisville's economic challenges is the lack of an East-end bridge. One lady we talked to said that her friends and family in Ohio and California have inquired to her what's wrong with Louisville because we can't seem "to finish our expressway." There's a clear consensus, like Tyler's said all along, to "Build the East End Bridge Now," and the only way that can happen is if we elect leadership that cares what ALL Louisvillians have to say, and are not beholden to the voices of only a few.

Forecastle Press Conference

Okay, this has nothing to do with the mayor race. Well, sort of nothing. I mean, when Tyler becomes mayor, groovy stuff like the Forecastle Festival, and it's creative superstar founder, J.K. McKnight, will be nourished and encouraged. It's part of unleashing the talent we already have here...

David Karem, president and executive director of Waterfront Development Corporation, announced today that this year's festival will be held on Waterfront Park. That's awesome, because Waterfront Park is awesome (See 8664).

J.K. McKnight announced the headliners this year will be Flaming Lips, Widespread Panic and Spoon. There will be 60 other performers, too! More headliners will be announced in April. J.K. also revealed this year's Forecastle poster, too!

U of L Mayoral Forum

A PACKED ROOM WITH HEATED QUESTIONS.
That's what happened at UofL's Mayoral Forum on Sustainability & Economic Development, which was moderated by Mark Hebert, UofL's director of media relations.

After the candidates got the opportunity to answer a question regarding climate change in their own words, Hebert cut to the point by asking all candidates who believe that climate change exists to raise their hand. Only candidate Hal Heiner did not, and although he's a little misguided on this, our campaign does give him kudo's for not pandering at least.

To the right, Tyler is pictured with University of Louisville Junior & hipster Alex Stambaugh, who is still undecided, but diligently doing his research.

In another frank question on race, a student asked "How will you ensure black people are not overlooked?" Like most of the candidates, our guy had a lot to say about this. But he was specific in noting that:

"You don't give private company complete control of entire city block..."

He was referring, of course, to how the current administration, including the Metro Council, has allowed the Cordish development group to assert private control and a dress code, over Fourth Street Live. (Three of the Mayor-candidates present are also members of that Metro Council.)

Partners for Progress Mayoral Candidate Forum

During the Partners for Progress Mayoral Candidate Forum today, Tyler talked about a host of issues affecting Louisville & the West end, specifically, but was quoted by the Courier-Journal on just one, their favorite:

"Businessman Tyler Allen, another Democrat, has been a leader of the group 8664, which advocates a surface-level parkway downtown to replace Interstate 64 and building one new Ohio River bridge — in eastern Jefferson County — and not a downtown span.

He told the forum that it’s time for 'new perspectives' on problems and issues. He said he doesn’t want unelected boards to make decisions on issues — such whether to use tolls to pay for new bridges — that affect everyone."

While transportation is not the only issue that our candidate cares about, it's a pretty vital issue to Louisville's future, and there's absolutely nothing wrong for being the smartest guy in the room on that subject. In fact, it's a good thing. That parkway that the story gave mention to, well, it would be a graceful tool for connecting our community. Here's what it would look like:

Today, he exposed yours truly (Curtis Morrison, volunteer coordinator for the campaign) to this community treasure! How cool is it that we have a candy store in town that's been around since 1921? How clueless am I not to know about it until today?

So here's a shout-out, if you need Easter candy, they appear to be stocked and waiting. While you're in Butchertown, stop by our headquarters a block away at 600 E. Main and say HI! You could pick up a sign, drop off a donation (or even goodies from Muth's), even sign up for a volunteer opportunity or shift in the headquarters! You know you want to!

Tyler himself will be at a mayoral forum until near the end of the event, but we feel it's important to encourage community involvement in this important discussion. Following the audit's release, here's the letter Tyler sent out to supporters today:

Dear Supporter,

It seems appropriate after this weekend's CJ story on the state audit of the city to talk to you about openness and transparency in our city government and community decisions. Now is a really important time for all our citizens to pitch in and help solve the problems facing our city. But, if people feel they can't trust how decisions are being made or how their tax money is being spent, then it's hard for them to feel engaged.

After so long with the same people running the show, it's understandable that folks would be disengaged and mistrustful (and yes, still undecided). Citizens want answers. Are city agencies tracking and spending tax dollars wisely? Why was a contract with Cordish approved that doesn't permit us to audit how they spend city money? How did income from the city-owned Slugger Field fund a downtown development agency without Metro Council approval? An unelected committee was allowed to choose an arena site that cost an extra $115 million? People are frustrated, as they should be.

And now we have an unelected tolling authority, lobbied for by our Mayor and rubber stamped by our Metro Council. This Tolling Authority has been given the power to impose what could be one of the largest tax increases in our history to pay for the obscenely expensive $2 billion, 23-lane wide Spaghetti Junction...just so we can finally build an East End Bridge. Enough is enough.

On my watch this won't be the way things work. We won't be lead by unelected committees designed to shield our elected leaders from responsibility. As your Mayor, I will step up and lead. I will put forth a vision and build a consensus to get things done. The buck will stop with me.

If this is the kind of leadership you've been waiting for, then I need your help to win this race. My track record of standing up to powerful interests is what distinguishes me from the field. Please join my team now.

Tyler completed the Rodes City Run this morning with a great chip time of 56:20! For those of you that are following the mayor race really closely, you'll immediately notice that Tyler ran 9.1 minute/miles this morning. Looking back to March 6, you'll remember he ran that 5K with 8.8 minute/miles.

Tyler Allen and Chris Thieneman both were guests on the myviewmatters radio show tonight, hosted by Ed Martin and Ed Springston. Besides all 4 people in the room being on the ballot in this election, they are also all known for questioning authority, so it was a neat little group. Allen and Thieneman have stuff in common, like both are not liked by the Courier-Journal. Both want the East-end bridge built first.

One difference that sets these two candidates apart was made clear tonight:
Thieneman thinks Hal Heiner taking jobs to Indiana is a problem. Tyler is a regional thinker that realizes if we do what we are supposed to, there are jobs all over the place, and we don't have to be in-fighting within our own region.

Earlier this morning, Allen was subjected to a half-hour’s worth of bridges-related questioning despite the fact that Allen could’ve probably talked about a lot of other things besides transportation, but whatever: The C-J was out for blood...."

Tyler Allen, who is used to a little bit of rough play from the Courier Journal, joined fellow candidates Greg Fischer, Lisa Moxley, Greg Fischer, Chris Theineman, Connie Marshall, Hal Heiner and Shannon White in a Tuesday-night forum sponsored by the Urban League and hosted by Meyzeek Middle School. Among other things, Tyler got a chance to stress the two highlights of his recently-introduced education plan: "Beginning with the end in mind," which is about helping parents with educating our children before they hit public school, and with the transition into education or the workforce after they graduate.

Didn't see the Tyler Allen Campaign in the St. Patrick's parade? That's because we just plain weren't in it. We thought about perching Tyler up on the back of a green hybrid convertible but we couldn't find one. And besides, Tyler likes to listen, and that's hard to do when you're in a parade.

So we were on the sidewalks talking to folks. There are a lot of undecided voters out there, so we were asking them questions and finding out what they needed to know to make their decisions. Some needed literature, some want to go home and hop online. A couple thought our buttons or bumper stickers were cool and that was good enough for them. (We didn't complain.)

Even the Tyler Allen Campaign has some blooper moments that probably should not have been photographed, but in the interest of transparency, here you go...

BEGINNING WITH THE END IN MIND

Tyler announced his vision for education in Louisville, today. at his business, USA Image Technologies. Tyler chose to announce the plan there because, as he said "the work of education is to nurture and shape our next generation into engaged, productive citizens.”

Tyler’s view of education can be summed up as follows:
· Build from the ground up: Early childhood is the most critical time in the development of the skills children need in order to learn and get along through life. To me, that means the next Mayor of Louisville needs to ensure that we are doing all that we can to move Pre-K education into our childcare system. This is a base on which all later education will be formulated and it is incredibly difficult and expensive to repair later. As Mayor, Tyler will:

§ Work to make sure every child in our community is prepared to succeed, and to do this will form an Early Childhood Education Council made up of the people and organizations who are delivering childcare and pre-education in our community.
§ Work to fully implement the STARS Rating System for early childhood and demand that our providers in this community live up to the highest expectations.
§ Identify resources for funding early childhood education and then deploy them in way s to move real education into the childcare system.
· Make the transitions well: We must know how prepared our children are when they enter the K-12 education system. That way we can better understand the performance of our schools and realistically demand the best. At each transition, we must know the starting point of each child to know if they are being well served in our system.
· Support our schools to ensure outcomes: The Mayor of Louisville does not run our public school system. They are run by an elected School Board and their delegate the Superintendent. It will not be my roll to tell them how to do their job. However, as Mayor I will:
§ Support the children and parents who are in our schools.
§ Help the schools do their job.
§ Work with our delegation in Frankfort to ensure JCPS gets the resources needed to education our future generations.
§ Support and expand the Community Schools’ program though JCPS, where schools in our neighborhoods stay open after school hours to provide educational programs tailored to the needs of the specific community.
§ Work to bring our schools and our neighborhoods together.
§ Focus on redevelopment efforts around the areas schools stand.
§ Leverage the significant community investment in our schools to drive investment in the community around the schools.
· Make a promise to our students to ensure their success: The largest value we can provide is producing educated, productive members of the workforce. As Mayor, I will:
§ Propose the Promise Louisville Program based on efforts pioneered in places like Kalamazoo, MI, Pittsburgh, PA, and Denver, CO. This Program is predicated on a two-pronged strategy: The first is to give students the college/workforce/life counseling early in high school to assist them in making the right choices in high school so they will be prepared to succeed. The second is to fund last dollars in scholarships so to ensure that a Bachelors Degree, Associates Degree, Professional Certification or other workforce ready training is affordable to everyone in our City.
§ Work with JCTCS to ensure that our students headed to college can get a head start by maximizing Dual Enrollment.
§ Support the principles of “Move On When Ready” allowing for students to move along in their career preparedness path as soon as they are ready; which means perhaps skipping their Senior Year to start working toward their goals.
§ Continue supporting our universities In their efforts for translational research to drive breakthroughs that can turn into new companies in Louisville.
§ Engage the “Creative Class” of scientists, researchers, doctors and engineers that call this City home.
§ Support and work to expand “Work to Education” initiatives like Metropolitan College.

As Mayor, Tyler knows that outcomes matter. According to Tyler, “We will ask the right questions. We will step up with City resources. Being known as a city where education matters is critically important to all our aspirations for economic growth and competitiveness in the years to come. When I am Mayor we will be known for education.”

Tyler will be announcing his strategy for high quality education and workforce development today, March 11th at 1pm. He will unveil his initiatives and strategies to achieve excellence in education and workforce development.

According to Tyler, "Louisville is not going to be able to sustain or attract the jobs of the future if we don’t have a workforce that is ready for those jobs. That begins by providing a strong start for our youngest citizens, and goes all the way to providing our students with the resources they need to afford a post-secondary education."

The initiative will be released at Tyler's business, USA Image Technologies, located at 2109 Watterson Trail. Hope you can make it by!

TARC's First Public Meeting

TARC held their first public meeting today to discuss the new proposed route changes for June 2010. The only elected officials that were present were one member of Metro Council, and Bullitt county's County Judge/Executive Melanie Roberts. Of course, wild horses couldn't have kept candidates for Louisville mayorTyler Allen or Jackie Green from showing up to such an important discussion. There was also impressive representation from the press.

TARC Director Barry Barker took questions as they occurred. He set the tone up front when he said "I wouldn't waste my time or your time if we weren't willing to listen." He was authentic with his please encouraging everyone present to "please express those frustrations."

One of the attendees from Bullitt county, which made up a pretty good chunk of the audience asked why some express routes like #66, were targeted more than others, like the one to Oldham County. Barker answered "We didn't say we were cutting all express routes."

Another attendee, Dreema Jackson, expressed frustration to Tyler after the meeting about the cuts. "That's the easiest thing to do. Not the only thing to do" she said.

This meeting was called together because of a crisis. One that could have been avoided with long-term thinking and planning. Tyler's committed to comprehensive regional transportation. A big key to that is modern transportation like mass transit/light rail. It's time our city began planning more progressive transportation options, and find out new ways to keep existing ones available. Triple Crown- Anthem 5k Fitness Classic

Tyler ran the Anthem 5k Fitness Classic this morning. The Anthem 5k is the first of three races. The other two races are the Rodes City Run (10K) on Saturday, March 20 and the Papa John’s 10 Miler Saturday, April 3. Net proceeds from the race are donated to the WHAS Crusade for Children. Louisville Triple Crown of Running has contributed over $600,000 to the Crusade for Children since they got it going in 1984

We might as well come clean before the press digs this up. He didn't win the Anthem 5k. Not even close. His time was 27:40. Um, for a 5K? The winner, Wesley Korir, finished in 14:35. The fastest woman was Mason Cathey, finishing in at 16:57.

Our guess here at headquarters is that such a beautiful morning had our leader distracted envisioning a beautiful future for Louisville.

Fairness Campaign Co-Coordinator Jeff Rodgers is joined by Statewide Fairness Coalition supporter, and candidate for Louisville mayor, Tyler Allen

Louisville mayor candidate Tyler Allen, an ally of statewide fairness, joined from all over Kentucky to participate in the annual lobby day and "Kentuckians Value Fairness!" rally sponsored by the Statewide Fairness Coalition.

It's the primary goal of the Statewide Fairness Coalition to pass a statewide fairness law, that would include sexual orientation and gender identity as a protection in existing discrimination law. Tyler has committed that when he's mayor, he's willing to speak before the Kentucky General Assembly on behalf of how Louisville's fairness amendment protections have been great for our city, and how they could make Kentucky better if they were extended statewide.

Yes, Besides Tyler appearing to have made the list twice, slide #2 and #125, it looks like his pastor, Jud Hendrix also made the list. As did our pioneer supporter Metro Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh. YAY!

People's Forum Tonight!

Ten local social justice have invited all the Louisville mayoral candidates to answer questions specific to the groups' goals at tonight's forum at the Metro United Way. We understand that all the sponsoring organizations are non-partisan and all the candidates were invited, regardless of party affiliation.

We know Tyler Allen will be there for sure.

Show up and hear which candidates give hopeful answers to what will probably be very difficult questions. Admission is free. While the forum doesn't begin until 6PM, the doors open at 5:30PM, so it's suggested you get there early to get the best seats in the house.

LGBT-Fundraiser ROCKED!

Jeffrey Tate and Brad Taylor opened their home off Frankfort Avenue this evening for over sixty LGBT-folks and their allies who showed up to express their support for Louisville's next Mayor. So many questions-here's a few:

A few members of the audience were employees of the Metro Government, and they asked if Tyler would support domestic-partnership benefits for city employees.
Tyler's answer: "Yes I will."
How will you use your position as Mayor to spread what's good about Louisville to the rest of the state, like our Fairness protections for example? - Jeff Rodgers
Tyler's Answer: "Louisville need to take more of a leadership position in the state. I have lobbied in Frankfort for the last few years and found that our city isn't seen as a leader by the state. Not only is there there a disconnect from the rest of the state, but there's even a disconnect between Metro Council and Louisville's delegation in Frankfort. We need to be working together first, if we ever expect to play a leadership role in the state."

Tyler's Answer: "Talk to your friends, get a yard sign, and share some of your ideas and good fortune with the campaign."

Special guests even included Metro Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh. She's so fierce.

“Halfway to Forecastle” was a mini-fest Saturday night that featured an all-electronic music line-up for the first time in the festival’s history, with artists performing on three stages inside THE POINTE. It was pretty AMAZING. For one, it was SOLD OUT! Very awesome!

Neither Tyler, nor I, had the foresight to have tickets which was a bit of a crisis until we ran into to Tyler Allen-Supporter James Harvey- who is helping to coordinate a most-fierce effort with Brycc House and LIVEFEED Louisville for Haiti Relief. (If you haven't heard about this, CHECK IT OUT NOW.) Anyway- I'm not sure of how it happened but he got us in. We spent a great deal of time at that table learning about all things Brycc House and their Haiti Relief Effort (Our New Campaign Headquarters is a drop-off point btw for stuff to go to Haiti. Not on the list I found out about last night, used suitcases with wheels to put the stuff in. Also, blankets and shoes can be used, as long as they're clean.) What an AMAZING organization, but that's another entry.

In the back, there were eleventy-million people having nothing but fun. Yes- In Louisville: dancing, drinking and socializing- simultaneously. Wow! Funniest moment was while in VIP Section, I whisper to BEAUTIFUL LADY "You just met Louisville's next Mayor!" and while nice, she seemed mysteriously unimpressed. Only when she comes on stage later in night do we realize she is, the talented Melisa Young, aka Kid Sister, and probably more famous than a Mayor of Louisville will ever be.

HEADQUARTERS OPEN HOUSE

Second, just got the official press release of the upcoming "People's Forum" that we are hoping will help voters differentiate between what Tyler and the other candidates have to offer ALL Louisvillians. Here's the skinny for the event:

Ten of Louisville’s grassroots social justice organizations are joining forces to present “The People’s Forum,” a mayoral candidate forum on Tuesday, February 2, 6-8 p.m. at the Metro United Way Building, 2nd floor, 334 E. Broadway. A reception will follow the event from 8-9 p.m. in which candidates may meet and greet the Forum audience. Admission to “The People’s Forum” is free, and granted on a “first come, first served” basis. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Presenting organizations of “The People’s Forum” include: ACLU of Kentucky, Community Farm Alliance, Fairness Campaign, Hispanic/Latino Coalition, Jefferson County Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, Kentucky Jobs with Justice, Making Connections Network, Metropolitan Housing Coalition, and Women In Transition.

Each of the ten presenting organizations is non-partisan, and every mayoral primary candidate, regardless of political party affiliation, is invited to participate. Candidates will answer questions pre-submitted by each presenting group on issues important to their communities. Audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions that, dependent upon time, will be incorporated into the Forum.

Tyler will be a guest this week on the Louisville radio talk show MyViewMatters, which can be found at WKJK 1080 AM. The show is on Thursday night from 7-8pm.

One of the co-hosts Ed Martin, is a known 8664 supporter, while the other, Ed Springston, is an ardent supporter of one of the Republican candidates in the race,so it's going to be a lively discussion for sure!

CORRECTION:
The show has been rescheduled for this Wednesday night, January 6th, instead. And FYI, from now on, that's the new time spot for MyViewMatters.

Tyler made it down to the"Olde Tyme Christmas on Frankfort Avenue" Sunday. The festive activities included the Santa Sprint Run and Stroll, the festive Dog Walk, and the Good Neighbor Awards.

Notice Tyler is wearing Red like Santa. That's because he's got lots of goodies (Good Ideas) for Louisville. (Unlike any Scrooges that might want to give us more of the same.)

I can tell you Team Tyler- St James sure is. Tonight we got up almost 40 signs in Old Louisville alone! And we unveiled the new Tyler for Mayor shirts that are pretty fierce (See pic)

If you haven't met Tyler before, or you just want to catch up with him -this weekend is your chance! He'll be out at St James Court Art Show starting at 2pm-6pm Friday, 10am-6pm on Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sunday. Now we won't have a booth, so you'll just have to look for the good-looking and forward-thinking folks that will be wearing these fancy black t-shirts!

Wow. What a busy week!
Thursday night, Tyler was one of only three candidates that participated in the debate sponsored by the Metropolitan Louisville Women's Political Caucus, and then this weekend he made it out to the 79th Fairdale Community Fair to listen to some folks out there and share with them his vision for Louisville's future.

While the campaign has already received a great many pioneering
charter supporters through its
